My first led class

So this morning was my first practice at AYRI. Yesterday guruji told me during registration (more about registration in the next post) to come for 6.30 led primary class (actually it is 6.15 since the shala clock is 15 minutes faster than normal). I turned up there around 6.10 today, but the first led class has finished for quite some time and most of the spot in the shala are taken. But I managed to squeeze in at the far left of shala right beside a cute Korean guy. Before practice starts, Sharath made some announcement which I don't understand. Then guruji lead an opening prayer in a call and response manner.

Sharath do all the count in the led class today which I think is a bit slow. If compare to how P'Um count, he makes us hold the pose a little bit longer. He sit and lead the class right in front of me from Ardha Baddha Padmottanasana to Marichyasana A. Then he walk away to adjust people or tell some student to stop their practice. He walk back near me again in Bhujapidasana. Then the crucial point, will I be stopped at Supta Kurmasana? I can just get the toe to cross (can't cross the ankle by myself yet). Well after he count to three, he walk away to tell some student to stop. So I was let to do the whole primary series today. I'm not sure if this can be counted as his approval of my Supta Kurmasana. I guess I have to see a few more days in the Mysore style class. Overall, around 80% of the students are allowed to do the whole primary series. (If the student is stopped, they just sit silently and wait to do the practice again at Urdhva Dhanurasana)

Sarasawati stand right behind me most of the time. So that cause me to kick or step on her feet a few time when I do jumpback. So after class I go to apologize her about that. But she was so cool about it, smile back at me and say 'Oh no problem, there is not much space left today.' Manju (guruji's son) also in the class today. I also met Tarek after class and say hi to him.

So many other things to write about, but that's it today. More to come in the next post.
